Why Scaling Principles
Scaling Principles is a fractional revenue-operations advisory led by founder Michael Bienvenue. For 20+ years we've run revenue operations inside SaaS companies at the exact point where growth is real but the forecast, the pipeline, and the team no longer hold together. We do that work embedded, fractional, or across a portfolio.
We've sat in both seats
Our founder built, ran, and sold his own technology-services firm — debt-free after six years — and led the revenue systems inside PE-backed SaaS companies as they scaled from early revenue to hundreds of millions in ARR. We know what the founder-to-operator handoff costs when it goes wrong, and how to make it go right.
We fix systems, not symptoms
Slow ramp, a pipeline that looks full, a forecast nobody trusts — these are almost always system problems wearing a people-problem costume. We find the real constraint and rebuild the process, data, and incentives around it, so the fix holds after we're gone.
We build the tools we run on
That includes production AI systems for deal risk, rep coaching, territory balance, and executive reporting — practical, in use, and built only after the underlying process is sound. What you get isn't a slide about AI; it's a working example of it.
Michael Bienvenue
Michael Bienvenue founded Scaling Principles after more than 20 years running revenue operations inside SaaS companies — from early-stage startups to PE-backed enterprises scaling past $350M in ARR.
That experience spans building and leading go-to-market operations teams, rebuilding forecasts and pipelines leadership could trust, cutting onboarding ramp in half, and lifting win rates from 27% to 42%. Earlier came a company of Michael's own — an IT services firm founded, run, and sold debt-free after six years, at a 4,500% return.
Today, Michael brings that operator's perspective to growing SaaS and SMB companies through Scaling Principles — and builds the AI systems the firm runs on, from deal-risk scoring to automated executive reporting. Based in Charleston, South Carolina.
"Our greatest fulfillment comes not from personal achievement, but from watching others succeed through the systems we've built."
